How much the prize money differs between men and women in the ”new” WPT
This season saw the news that the World Padel Tour is equalizing the prize money between men and women on the circuit. When the WPT announced the changes for 2023, the difference was back again.
Earlier this year, the news broke: the women's and men's prize money on the World Padel Tour is being equalized. But when the board with Alex Corretja and Ramon Agenjo presented the new proposals for the "new" World Padel Tour in Menorca yesterday, the difference was back again.
The difference in prize money on the new BIG categories (for men and women) is double: 600,000 euros for men and 300,000 for women. Also, the highest Open category on both the men's and women's sides is double. 300,000 euros for men (Open 300), and 150,000 for women for the equivalent (Open 150).
In the lowest Open category, the total prize money is €100,000 on the men's side (Open 100), while it is €60,000 on the women's side (Open 60).
