Sanyo on the rumors: ”Any player would want him in his project — Tapia is a phenomenon”

ANNONS

Speculation about Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia together next season is growing. This week Tapia went out to Padel Alto and said that contact had been made between the parties and that a decision for 2023 is coming this week. Now his current partner is speaking out to Argentine Olé.
— He has told me about some calls, says Sanyo Gutierrez.

Will Agustin Tapia continue to play with Sanyo Gutierrez next season? Or will he choose to continue playing with Arturo Coello?

That's the big question on the world tour right now. This week Padel Alto met Tapia for an interview, in which he confirmed that talks with Coello have been taken. But a decision on the future will be made this week.

Now Sanyo Gutierrez goes out to Argentinean Olé.

— He has told me about some calls. Obviously, with Tapia, everyone would want to play, right? But personally, it doesn't affect me at all. He is a 23-year-old kid with crazy potential; any player would want him for his project. Tapia is a phenomenon. It's like when you have a very pretty girlfriend: if you go out partying, you can't pretend that others don't look at her. In the end, Agus is that pretty girlfriend, Sanyo says to the site.

He continues:

— If he calls tomorrow and tells me that he is going to play with whoever, I will wish him luck, hug him, and that's it. But 2022 is still being played, and we must keep an eye on what happens this year. Or at least that's how I take it.

Premier Padel still lacks a lot of things

Padel Alto was the first to report that Sanyo Gutierrez and Agustin Tapia will not be playing in Egypt's P1 Premier Padel competition. The reason? Too tight tournament schedule.

— We made the decision some time ago: we will not sign up for Egypt and Milan if it is confirmed because we think it is too much of a burden at the end of the year, and there is a big chance of injury. Today we have much more to lose in World Padel Tour than in the Premier. Premier Padel still lacks a lot of things, especially in shaping everything. Right now, it has more of a World Padel Tour shape than Premier. Having said that, we will surely go to Mexico because it is a Major, but the other two P1 category tournaments are not good for us, he explains.

The tournament management on World Padel Tour will meet with the players during the next competition in Menorca. There, a series of changes will be presented.
