Di Nenno after the breakup: ”I felt that Paco didn't have the same spirit”

ANNONS

Yesterday came the bomb that changed everything in the world of padel. Paquito Navarro and Martin Di Nenno split. Now Di Nenno speaks to the Argentinean site Olé, which revealed the news.
— I felt that Paco didn't have the same spirit, he says.

A lot is happening on the men's side of the tour. Yesterday it was announced that Paquito Navarro and Martin Di Nenno will end their partnership after the Santander Open.

Padel Alto has information that Paquito Navarro will play two tournaments with Mike Yanguas. Today Argentine Olé revealed that Federico Chingotto and Juan Tello are going their separate ways after Buenos Aires and that Tello and Navarro will play together after that tournament, which means that Navarro switches position to drive.

Now Martin Di Nenno speaks to Olé:

— We have had a very irregular season in terms of play: tournaments where we made finals and the next we lost in the quarterfinals. The reasons were a little bit because of the results and our feelings for each other. I felt that Paco (Navarro) didn't have the same spirit as before. I hope that with this change and with a new teammate, he says.

”I was not helping him.”

The decision was made after the quarter-finals of the Amsterdam Open, which they lost to Fernando Belasteguin and Arturo Coello.

— But things don't happen from one day to the next: we were both thinking about it, but neither of us dared to accept it. I consider Paco the best player I have played with so far in my career. With him, I went to every tournament with the hope that we could do well and become champions, but then we arrived at the competition, and the energy was not there. I was not helping him, and he was not helping me.

At the same time, he confirms what Padel Alto has previously written. That he is now pairing up with Coki Nieto for the rest of the season.

— I'm going to finish the season with Coki Nieto. And honestly, I am very happy. I needed new air. He is a fighter with the same motivation as me, and I know he will fight for every point, throwing himself head first if necessary, Martin Di Nenno says.

Rodri Ovide will be the coach of Martin Di Nenno and Coki Nieto. Who Mike Yanguas and Federico Chingotto will pair up with in the future is still unknown.
