Argentina announces its team for the South American Games

The Argentine Padel Association has announced the teams that will represent the country in the upcoming Odesur South American Games, to be held in Paraguay from 1 to 15 October.

Weeks ago, it was announced the inclusion of padel as a sport for the next South American Games (Prelude to the Pan American Games in Santiago 2023). Now, the APA has announced who will be the players that will represent the Argentine national team, under the orders of Gaby Reca.

For the men's team, the chosen players will be Franco Dal Bianco and Juani De Pascual. Dal Bianco is currently number one on the APT Padel tour, and plays on the backhand, while the young De Pascual (17 years old) is one of the most promising players in Argentine padel, and will play on the drive. In the women's team, the chosen players are the experienced Cecilia Reiter on the drive and Daiara Valenzuela - number one in the Argentine U18 ranking - will accompany her on the backhand.

The Odesur Games will be held from 1 to 15 October in Asunción, Encarnación and Itaipú, in Paraguay. There will be 54 disciplines, 35 sports, 15 countries will take part and 7,000 people will be involved, including athletes, coaches and delegates. The padel competition will take place from 6 to 9 October on the courts located at the National Sports Secretariat (SND).
