List: Here are the most talented men's players
Who is the greatest talent in the world? Padel Alto has ranked the best prospects right now. Some have already broken into the world elite, while some are racing up the world rankings. Let's start with the men's side.
The criterion for inclusion in the list of great talents is that you have not yet reached the age of 21. That is why talents like Edu Alonso and Jesus Moya are not on the list.
11. Ignacio Piotto
Age: 20
Nationality: Argentina
Born in: San Luis
Position: Backhand
Sponsor: Head
Comment:
Pablo Piotto grew up in the padel town of San Luis where Sanyo Gutierrez comes from. He is a talented backhand player who has now moved to Alicante for the best possible training at Sanyo´s academy. He plays alongside seasoned legend Cristian Gutierrez on the APT tour. Could you have a better tutor to reach the top?
10. Alex Chozas
Age: 19
Nationality: Argentina
Born in: Hurlingham
Position: Backhand
Sponsor: Varlion
Comment:
19-year-old backhand player Alex Chozas is spectacular to watch. A ball talent who has been doing well on the APT Padel Tour alongside Portuguese Miguel Oliviera since Teneriffe Open. He is ranked 17 on the APT tour. Has not yet tried his luck on the World Padel Tour.
9. Jose Jimenez
Age: 18
Nationality: Spain
Born in: Granada
Position: Forehand (left-handed)
Sponsor: Bullpadel
Comment:
The left-handed Jimenez from Granada has just turned 18. Despite his young age, he plays a mature game of padel and is 76th in the WPT rankings. This season he has made it to the main round of the World Padel Tour twice. The biggest highlight was a semi-final in the Getafe Challenger earlier this year.
8. Maxi Sanchez Blasco
Age: 19
Nationality: Argentina
Born in: Deaireaux
Position: Backhand
Sponsor: RS Padel
Comment:
This Maxi Sanchez, with the same name as the already established compatriot, has all the potential to reach the same level and represent the Argentine senior national team in the long run. Plays on the APT tour and made a success of himself at the age of 19. Currently 12th in the APT rankings and pairs with another talent on this list.
7. Leandro Ramon Augsburger
Age: 18
Nationality: Argentina
Born in: Misiones
Position: Backhand
Sponsor: Varlion
Comment:
Another Argentinian is on the list. This young, powerful backhand player will be extremely interesting to follow in the future. He will be hard to beat when he finds stability in his game, which usually comes with age and experience.
Forms an exciting pair on the APT tour along with Santi Rolla.
Age: 17
Nationality: Spain
Born in: Merida
Position: Forehand (left-handed)
Sponsor: Adidas
Comment:
Perhaps the greatest talent of all at a young age. Already at the age of eight, Adidas discovered his talent and made a success of him in their junior team. Before this season, at the age of 17, he signed his first professional contract. The left-handed Cardona is predicted to have a bright future and is a complete and all-around player, who we will see more of, both on the tour and in the Spanish national team.
The 17-year-old made it to the main round of the World Padel Tour's French Open earlier this year.
5. Juan De Pascual
Age: 17
Nationality: Argentina
Born in: Pergamino
Position: Forehand (left-handed)
Sponsor: Varlion
Comment:
I rank Juan De Pascual as the best talent in Argentina. He is the third on the list who is left-handed. De Pascual has an all-around playing style and plays very mature for his age. He received a wild card to last year's World Padel Tour in Buenos Aires and showed a great game against Lucho Capra and Maxi Sanchez.
Started a partnership with another on this list, namely Maxi Sanchez. Together they are now playing on the APT tour. De Pasqual is currently 22 on the ranking list but will soon be higher.
4. Alex Arroyo
Age: 20
Nationality: Spain
Born in: Valencia
Position: Backhand
Sponsor: Bullpadel
Comment:
Valencia son Alex Arroyo's career was nearly ruined by a cancer diagnosis. But he won the most important battle and is now back competing at the very highest level. Went to an incredible semi-final last year on the World Padel Tour alongside Arturo Coello.
This year he has been playing with legend Juan Martin Diaz which is beneficial for the talented player who needs to work more on technique and consistency in the game. Lives a lot on his powerful smash. Now he plays with Gonzalo Rubio.
3. Javi Leal
Age: 19
Nationality: Spain
Born in: Puerto de Santa Maria
Position: Backhand
Sponsor: Bullpadel
Comment:
The Spaniard from the same city as a certain Juan Lebron comes third on this list. Javi Leal turned 19 and made a big impact last season alongside Miguel Semmler. He has struggled to find the right partner and to work on his temper on the court. Trains at the world's best academy, M3 in Madrid.
Has now seemed to find his feet with Javi Rico, and the team made it to a sensational quarter-final in the Premier Padel's Paris Major at Roland Garros.
Has too low a base level and needs to be more consistent in his game. Sensational efforts can be mixed with losses to lower-ranked pairs.
Age: 20
Nationality: Spain
Born in: Malaga
Position: Forehand
Sponsor: Varlion
Comment:
A player who has already made it to the top of the world. Miguel Yanguas is a long forehand player with incredible technique and fine wrists. Can do most things on the court and thrives best in slow conditions.
Went from playing with Miguel Lamperti to teaming up with Coki Nieto for this season.
Is 19th in the World Padel Tour rankings and made it to the semi-finals last on home soil in the World Padel Tour competition in Malaga.
Will be an important player off the pitch in the future to grow the sport. Despite his age, is very mature both on and off the pitch. Curiously, he speaks the best English of all top players. However, he sometimes loses his head on the court and needs to work on that mentally. He is not far away from a place on the Spanish national team.
1 Arturo Coello
Age: 20
Nationality: Spain
Born in: Valladolid
Position: Forehand
Sponsor: Head
Comment:
Arturo Coello is the world's greatest talent. At the age of 19, he was asked by the world's best player of all time, Fernando Belasteguin, to play together. That says a lot about Coello's potential.
Has every chance in the world of becoming the world's best padel player and is now number 12 in the world.
He reached the final World Padel Tour competition on his home turf in Valladolid Masters. As well as losing in a decisive tiebreak in the final of the Premier Padel competition in Mendoza recently. He was also the youngest player of all time to win an Open title on the World Padel Tour when he and "Bela" won the Miami Open earlier in the season.
Already plays in the senior national team and has won World Cup gold for Spain in the last championship in Qatar. He needs to work on the quality of his own serves and the return game.
