Confirmed: Stupa injured – Lebrón signs up with new partner
Yesterday, Juan Lebrón and Franco Stupaczuk withdrew from the entry list for the Premier Padel tournament in Belgium. It is now confirmed that Stupaczuk is injured and will miss the next two tournaments.
At the same time, Juan Lebrón has signed up with Alex Ruiz.
There have been many changes over the last 24 hours. While the top men's pairs began signing up for the P2 tournament in Belgium – ending the boycott – Lebrón and Stupaczuk withdrew.
One possible explanation was that they chose to skip Belgium because they had played in the tournament in Mexico, unlike most other top-ranked players.
But that was not the case – shortly after, Lebrón signed up with Alex Ruiz, and Stupaczuk shared the news about his injury.
On Instagram, he wrote:
“I did some medical tests and the results confirmed that I have an injury that forces me to take a break and focus on recovery. I’m very sad that I won’t be able to play the upcoming tournaments in Qatar and Brussels.”
Next week, the Premier Padel Major will be played in Qatar, followed by the P2 tournament in Belgium the week after.
