Three Players Chasing the Final Ticket to Tour Finals
With just one competition left, the final spot for this year's Tour Finals on the women's side will be decided this week. Between 19 and 22 December, the world's best padel players will gather in Barcelona and it is now clear that three players are fighting for the remaining ticket to the season finale.
The Tour Finals, based on the players' 22 best results of the year, brings together the 16 highest ranked players on both the men's and women's side. The final Premier Padel competition will be the deciding factor for who secures the final spot in this prestigious competition.
Three players fighting for a place
Aranza Osoro currently holds the final qualifying spot with 3570 points, closely followed by Alejandra Alonso, who is just behind with 3555 points. Tamara Icardo is also in contention and is third with 3450 points.
Virginia Riera had a chance to qualify before the competition, but after yesterday's loss in the longest ever Premier Padel match (read more here), she is now out of contention for the Tour Finals.
The ongoing competition is a P1, meaning winners are rewarded with 1000 points, while finalists receive 600. Semi-finalists are awarded 360 points, quarter-finalists 180, and players who reach the round of 16 receive 90 points. This means that this week's competition will decide who takes the final spot in the Tour Finals on the women's side.
