”I am convinced that the girls will be in the next tournament”
In an interview to the newspaper Relevo, the president of the International Padel Federation, Luigi Carraro, assured that the next Premier Padel tournament will have a women's draw.
The new season of the Premier Padel circuit has started with the Qatar Major, but once again, the girls are the big absentees.
In an interview with the newspaper Relevo, the president of the FIP, Luigi Carraro, confirmed that the absence of the girls in the first tournament of the year was due to lack of time.
A few days ago, the World Padel Tour gave the go-ahead for the ladies to participate in Premier Padel, but the organisers did not have time to set up the women's draw
"The absence was due to lack of time. If we had had a few more weeks, the girls would have started here as well," declared Carraro.
"The girls will be in the next tournament"
The FIP president continues to highlight the importance of having both men's and women's draws in the Premier Padel circuit tournaments.
"For us (the presence of the girls) is fundamental. To have these tournaments combined in the same week has a very high value, both for the fans and for television. Both the men's and women's draws are excellent products.”
Carraro believes that from the next Major of Italy, to be held in Rome from 10 to 16 July, we can finally enjoy a women's competition in Premier Padel.
“We have meetings every day, and I am convinced that the girls will be in the next tournament of the Premier Padel circuit,” he said.
