Decides who will play the Master Final in Barcelona — Mexico Open kicks off

ANNONS

Today starts the WPT Mexico Open, the last tournament of the regular season. A tournament that will feature many important absences and will decide the players who will participate in the great Final Master in Barcelona.

The competition season is about to end, and this Tuesday, the World Padel Tour visits Mexico to play the last tournament of the regular season.

The WPT Mexico Open will be the last event before the Final Master in Barcelona, where the 16 best players in the men's and women's categories will compete for the title of master of masters.

The round of 32 will be played on Tuesday and Wednesday, while the broadcasting of the matches will start on Wednesday through the WPT Tv App.

Last available places

The central court of the Olympic Gymnasium of Mexico will host the couples that will fight for a place in the top 16.

While everything seems to be defined in the men's draw, the women's draw still has the last two places hotly contested. Everything will be defined between the Sanchez Alayeto twins (15 and 16), Delfina Brea (only 5 points behind Majo), and Tamara Icardo (just over 200 points).

A slip of the “Atomik Twins” and a success of the rivals would leave Mapi and Majo without chances to access the tournament in Barcelona.

A tournament full of absences

The Open of Mexico will be a tournament in which many of the top pairings in the men's draw will be missing.

Besides the officially confirmed absences of Fernando Belasteguin-Arturo Coello and Javi Leal-Javi Rico, the world number ones, Alejandro Galan and Juan Lebron, will also be out of the competition due to physical discomfort suffered by Galan.
