World Padel Tour receives setback in court

Setpoint Events S.A., the World Padel Tour (WPT) 's owners, has received a tough legal setback this week. The Madrid court has rejected their request to stop the Premier Padel circuit competition.

In May of this year, WPT filed a lawsuit against the International Padel Federation (FIP), the Professional Players Association (PPA), and Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) for unfair competition.

In the lawsuit, WPT accused the new circuit of encouraging players to breach the exclusivity obligation in their contracts with WPT by participating in Premier Padel tournaments.
