Confirmed: Ending partnership after two years

Lucia Sainz and Patricia Llaguno have been one of the few padel pairs to stay together for a longer period. After two years, Sainz has now announced that their partnership will end after the tournament in Milan.

It is rare for padel pairs to remain together for long. Most partnerships last only a few months, sometimes just weeks, before new pairs are formed.

One of the exceptions has been Lucia Sainz and Patricia Llaguno, who have played together for the past two years. But now it is confirmed that their journey is also coming to an end.

The decision was announced by Sainz on Instagram, where she wrote:

“Today I want to share that the tournament in Milan will be the last I play together with Patricia Llaguno. These have been years of commitment and teamwork, and I take with me everything I have learned and experienced along the way.”

She continued:

“Now it’s time to face new challenges with the same joy as always.”

When Newgiza P2 begins, Sainz will do so alongside Raquel Eugenio Barrera. For Llaguno, it is not yet confirmed who her next partner will be.
