After the win – Tapia and Galan share first place
The final in the Netherlands has made the race for the most men’s titles completely even – Agustin Tapia and Ale Galan both now have 50 titles.
Last year there was no doubt about who led the all-time list. Fernando Belasteguin was still active, and with more than 230 titles no one could challenge his position.
But now that Bela has ended his career, it is Agustin Tapia and Ale Galan who are fighting for first place among active men’s players.
After the final win in the Netherlands, where Tapia together with Arturo Coello beat Galan and Fede Chingotto, the standings are completely level.
Both Tapia and Galan now sit on 50 titles each. Behind them are Coello with 42, Juan Lebron with 40, and Sanyo Gutierrez with 37, according to the Spanish newspaper Marca.
Five tournaments remain this season, and the question is which player will top the list when the year comes to an end.
