After Madrid title – Di Nenno and Augsburger knocked out early again
Martin Di Nenno and Leo Augsburger claimed their first title together in Madrid. But since then things have been tougher, and yesterday they went out already in the round of 16.
In Madrid, the pair first knocked out Ale Galan and Fede Chingotto, followed up with a win over Juan Lebron and Franco Stupaczuk in the semifinal, and secured the title by beating world number ones Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia in the final.
The following week in Paris they lost straight away. Sanyo Gutierrez and Gonzalo Alfonso turned the match around to win 2–6, 6–3, 6–4 against the Madrid champions.
In Germany they fell in the quarterfinals against Galan and Chingotto, which was not unexpected given the rankings.
In the Netherlands it was another early exit. In yesterday’s round of 16 they lost once again to Gutierrez and Alfonso, this time 6–3, 3–6, 5–7.
They now get a few days’ rest before Milano P1 next week.
