Premier Padel returns with changes to the rankings

For 840 days, Ariana Sanchez and Paula Josemaria were the top seed. But in early August, that streak came to an end – and a new one began when Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea won the title in Spain.

Triay and Brea won the final of the Cupra Costa Daurada Tarragona P1 with a 7–6, 6–4 victory. The match was not only about the title but also the number one spot on the seeding list.

Ariana Sanchez and Paula Josemaria had been at the top of the list for every tournament since April 16, 2023, when they won the Granada Open against Gemma Triay and Alejandra Salazar. After this final loss, Triay reclaimed the top spot, this time alongside Delfi Brea.

Triay had already surpassed both Sanchez and Josemaria individually in the world rankings, but this win means that Brea and Triay will be the top seeds in the next tournament, taking place next week in Madrid.

It is the only change in the women’s top eight ahead of Madrid compared to the previous seeding list.

On the men’s side, there is also one change for Madrid, with Jon Sanz returning from injury to play with Momo Gonzalez.
