Coello and Tapia surpass Galan and Lebron in number of titles
Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia claimed another title in Valladolid after defeating Juan Lebrón and Franco Stupaczuk. The win means the world number ones have now surpassed Lebrón and Ale Galán in total titles.
Galán and Lebrón dominated the padel world for several years and won a total of 33 titles together. They came close to overtaking Fernando Belasteguín and Pablo Lima, who won 36 titles as a pair, but the duo split in early 2024—just three titles short.
Now, after their latest victory in Valladolid, Coello and Tapia have moved past Galán and Lebrón. The duo now holds 34 titles together, across both Premier Padel and World Padel Tour events.
There’s every indication that they may also surpass Bela and Lima later this year.
However, further up the list are Ariana Sánchez and Paula Josemaría, who reached 41 titles together following their win in Valladolid.
Reaching the very top, though, will be a difficult task. According to Spanish newspaper Marca, the all-time record is held by Fernando Belasteguín and Juan Martín Díaz—with an incredible 170 titles as a pair.
