Race standings: Tapia/Coello and Triay/Brea in the lead
Tapia and Coello, as well as Triay and Brea, have been the strongest pairs so far. That’s clear from the current Premier Padel Race standings after nine of this season’s 22 tournaments.
The top 16 players in the Race will qualify for the Tour Finals, which will be held in Barcelona at the end of the year. At the same time, the standings offer a good overview of how the season has developed so far.
Nine tournaments have already been played, and while there’s still a long way to go, it’s tight at the top — with Tapia and Coello holding a slight lead over Ale Galan and Fede Chingotto.
This comes after Galan and Chingotto were forced to retire from their semifinal, while Tapia and Coello went on to win the tournament in Argentina.
In the women’s Race, the battle is also close between the two leading pairs. Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay currently top the standings ahead of Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez.
