Instantpadel Brings Urban Padel to Life at Canada Water
Instantcourts, the company behind Instantpadel, is bringing a new level of accessibility, community, and fun to one of London’s most exciting districts: Canada Water.
The new pop-up venue, which opened on May 7th, features four Instantpadel courts, installed without the need for major groundwork or extensive permitting—thanks to Instantpadel’s unique modular, no-foundation design.
Christoffer Granfelt, Founder of Instantcourts, comments in a press release:
– This is an amazing opportunity to onboard new players to the game while creating the perfect social spot for Londoners. Teaming up with Padel Mates was a no-brainer—they have a strong presence in the UK and share our mission of making padel more accessible, social, and fun.
Daniel Dawood, Co-founder of Padel Mates, adds:
– This project checks every box for us—growing the game and connecting people through padel. This is just the beginning, and we’re here to support the UK community every step of the way.
The partnership comes after Instantpadel’s successful 2024 run in London, where over 24 courts were activated across the city.
In the press release, they write:
”Recognizing the continued growth of padel in the UK and the barriers posed by permits and planning restrictions, the two brands began discussions on how to overcome these challenges through agile, short-term urban activations.”
Granfelt explains:
– The gold of padel is land and space. When you do a proper inventory of what’s available, there are incredible sites sitting unused—just because they’re hard to access short-term. Instantpadel is built exactly for this. We make it possible to activate those spaces quickly, without the red tape.
Instantpadel at Canada Water will be run by a local operator supported by Padel Mates and Instantpadel.
