Major finals today: World number ones vs world number twos

ANNONS

The first Major of the season brings two big finals. On both the men’s and women’s sides, the world number ones play the number twos – with 2,000 ranking points for the winners.

In the men’s final, Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello face Alejandro Galán and Federico Chingotto. This was the most played final in 2024 – the pairs met 15 times, and in many tournaments the final felt decided before the tournament had even started.

But 2025 has been different. Early losses and a boycott have shaped the season so far. Now, in the year’s first Major, the two pairs meet for the first time – and no other tournament this year has had this many points on the line. The winners earn 2,000 points, the runners-up get 1,200.

The women’s final is also between the top two ranked teams. Paula Josemaría and Ariana Sánchez take on Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea. They have already faced each other several times this year, with Triay and Brea leading 2–0.

Triay is chasing the number one spot in the overall rankings, currently more than 2,000 points behind. With 800 points between winning and losing today, the result could make a big difference.

The women’s final starts at 15:00 Spanish time, followed by the men’s final. Both matches are shown on Red Bull TV and Viaplay.
