Coello and Tapia’s streak broken – after 324 days
ANNONS
For nearly a year, world number ones Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia reached the final of every Premier Padel tournament they played. But over the weekend in Miami, their historic streak came to an end.
The duo has dominated the padel world over the past year, delivering performances few have come close to. Last season, they made 15 consecutive finals – a record they extended to 16 in the first tournament of this year.
But in the Miami semifinal, their run ended. They lost to Franco Stupaczuk and Juan Lebrón, marking their first semifinal defeat since May 2024 – 324 days ago.
This week, the world number ones get another chance as the next Premier Padel event begins, and their hunt for another title continues.
