Talents improve their rankings after Premier Padel title

Francisco Cabeza and Diego Garcia secured the Premier Padel title in Gijón last week and are now rewarded with a big jump in the rankings after winning their first tour title.

With the entire men's top 100 choosing not to play in Gijón (Read more here), new pairs had a chance to earn valuable points.

One pair that took advantage was the young talents Francisco Cabeza, 17, and Diego Garcia, 18. They went all the way and won the title with a final victory over Tolito Aguirre and Gonza Alfonso.

The title gives them 600 ranking points each.

Cabeza, who was ranked 176 with 187 points before the tournament, now moves up to around 80th place – nearly 100 spots higher.

Garcia, previously ranked 222 with 93 points, improves his ranking by more than 100 places, breaking into the top 100.
