Delfi Brea on Her New Partnership – and the Goal for 2025

ANNONS

It has been 50 days since the last season ended, and today, Premier Padel is finally back. For Delfi Brea, 2024 was a special year—she started the season with multiple titles but then had to change partners several times due to Bea González’s injury break. Now, she steps into a new season alongside Gemma Triay with a clear goal in mind.

During the spring of 2024, Delfi Brea and Bea González dominated, winning four consecutive titles. They were serious contenders for the world No. 1 ranking, but injuries disrupted their momentum.

González was forced to take several injury breaks, which meant Brea had to play with temporary partners, such as Andrea Ustero at the Paris Major and Veronica Virseda at the Tour Finals.

After the season, it was announced that Brea and González would go their separate ways. For 2025, Brea has instead teamed up with Gemma Triay.

– From the first day on court, we have been very in sync. It’s like we talked about—we’ve known each other for many years. We haven’t played together before, but we’ve faced each other as opponents for a long time, and that also helps in understanding one another, Brea told Marca.

When asked if her goal is to become world No. 1, she responded:

– I’ve been saying it for years now, even four years ago. It hasn’t happened yet, but I know it will. And that’s the mindset I have every January when the season starts. Achieving it is another thing, but we’ve set the bar high because we are both players who can take on that challenge.
