Agüero’s Team Won the Hexagon Cup – Decided in the Third Match
Yesterday, the Hexagon Cup final was decided in a dramatic match that went to a third and decisive match. In the end, Krü Padel by Taktika, led by football star Sergio Agüero, won the title.
For the second consecutive year, the Hexagon Cup brought together many of the world’s top players. After four days of group stage action, the two teams with the most points—Krü Padel by Taktika and Rafa Nadal Academy powered by Richard Mille—played for the title. The final was decided in a best-of-three format: women’s, men’s, and Next Gen matches.
The opening match was a thriller, as Marta Ortega and Gemma Triay (Rafa Nadal Academy) took on Claudia Jensen and Verónica Virseda (Krü Padel by Taktika). The match went to a super tiebreak, where Ortega and Triay secured a 7-6, 5-7, 13-11 victory to give their team an early lead.
In the men’s match, Álex Ruiz and Franco Stupaczuk (Rafa Nadal Academy) faced Federico Chingotto and Momo González (Krü Padel by Taktika). Chingotto and González responded with a 6-4, 6-4 win, forcing a decisive third match.
That left the title in the hands of the Next Gen players, where Águeda Pérez and Marina Lobo (Krü Padel by Taktika) faced Noa Cánovas and Noemí Aguilar (Rafa Nadal Academy). Pérez and Lobo won 6-3, 6-4, celebrating the title alongside Agüero, who was present for the team’s victory.
