New player confirmed for Hexagon Cup following Bea Gonzalez's withdrawal

Bea Gonzalez, who a month ago had to withdraw from the Tour Finals in Barcelona, will also miss the Hexagon Cup. The tournament organizers have announced that Jessica Castello will take her place in Team Bella Puerto Rico, partnering with talented Andrea Ustero.

In recent years, Gonzalez has partnered with Delfi Brea, winning eight titles in 2023 across both Premier Padel and the World Padel Tour, as well as five Premier Padel titles in 2024.

However, last season was marked by challenges, as injuries forced Gonzalez into an extended break. This caused her to miss several major events, including the Tour Finals in Barcelona. It is now confirmed that she is not ready for the Hexagon Cup either.

"To play and participate in the Hexagon Cup, you need to be at 100 percent. I’m very close to being fully recovered, but I still need a few more days. It makes me very sad, but it’s the best decision for everyone," Gonzalez told Marca.

Jessica Castello steps in as her replacement in Team Bella Puerto Rico and will play alongside Andrea Ustero.

The Hexagon Cup will take place from January 29 to February 2. Read about all the pairs here.
