Claudia Fernandez after the split with Triay: "It surprised me"
Delfi Brea and Bea Gonzalez, along with Gemma Triay and Claudia Fernandez, have parted ways to form new partnerships. In an interview with Marca, Claudia Fernandez shared her thoughts on Triay's decision and her new collaboration.
Following the split, the padel world will see Triay team up with Brea and Gonzalez join forces with Fernandez in the upcoming season.
In the interview with the Spanish newspaper Marca, Fernandez spoke about how she received the news of her split with Triay:
“It surprised me, even though I somewhat expected it. I think we achieved very good results, but that's how it is. If she believes things will work out better with someone else, it’s understandable—this is a job. You have to be professional and look ahead. She’ll follow her path, and I’ll follow mine,” she told Marca.
Regarding her new partnership with Bea Gonzalez, Fernandez is excited and ready to start training together.
“The team is already set, and everything feels perfect. I’m super excited. I already played with her at the Hexagon Cup in 2024. She’s an amazing person, humble, and always gives her all... I think we can do very well. I’ll give everything I have to make it happen. I trained on the court for the first time today; she’ll do so soon, and then we’ll start training together.”
The Premier Padel season kicks off in mid-February.
