Galan and Chingotto Eliminated from the Tour Finals
Alejandro Galan and Federico Chingotto entered the Tour Finals in Barcelona with hopes of reaching another final this year. However, their journey ended in the quarterfinals as Momo Gonzalez and Eduardo Alonso played an impressive match.
The Tour Finals in Barcelona, formerly known as the Master Finals, is one of the most prestigious tournaments of the year.
Late on Friday night, Alejandro Galan and Federico Chingotto played their first match of the tournament against Momo Gonzalez and Eduardo Alonso.
Gonzalez and Alonso started strong, quickly taking a 4-1 lead in the first set. Galan and Chingotto tried to come back and closed the gap a little, but it wasn’t enough. Gonzalez and Alonso held their lead and won the first set 6-4.
The second set was close. Gonzalez and Alonso got an early break, but Galan and Chingotto managed to even the score and later win the set 6-4.
A deciding third set was needed, and Gonzalez and Alonso proved to be the stronger pair, ultimately securing the victory.
The final score was 6-4, 4-6, 6-4.
The win sends Gonzalez and Alonso to the semifinals, where they will face Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz on Saturday.
For Galan and Chingotto, the loss marks the end of a successful season. The pair started the year with five titles but have struggled to challenge Tapia and Coello since the summer.
