Alex Ruiz on the future: "It depends on the top pairs"

ANNONS

Alex Ruiz has had an uneven season, with his best results being several quarter-final appearances. He now opens up about his future and says that he doesn't believe he will continue with Alex Arroyo. At the same time, he points out that his next partnership will depend on how the top pairs are formed for next season.

It has been a year of changes for Ruiz, who has had different partners throughout the year: Juan Tello, Momo González, Javi Garrido, and Alex Arroyo. Despite having many teammates, the quarterfinal was his best result – a step down from previous years, where he reached semifinals and finals.

– Sometimes you have to make decisions that might not turn out as you hoped or expected. But of course, every time you take a step forward, you risk something without guarantees. When I broke up with Momo, for example, I did it because I felt we were performing but staying still. I decided it was better to try something new, he says in an interview with Spanish newspaper Diario AS.

When asked if he will continue playing with Alex Arroyo next year, he says he doesn’t think that will happen.

– I have great respect for him and we have a good personal relationship, but I don’t think, after two breakups, he sees me as an option for any future project. For my part, I always wish him the best.

Recently, there has been speculation about next year’s partnerships. Alex Ruiz says his next partnership will depend on several factors, but especially on how the top pairs are formed.

– This depends on many factors, but mostly on how the top pairs are formed. It’s a usual development, but by the end of the year, everything tends to take a little longer.
