Coello and Tapia Extend Their Winning Streak – Two Wins Away from Their Own Record

ANNONS

Do you remember the spring of 2023, when Coello and Tapia won 46 straight matches and were unstoppable? Their incredible streak was broken by Stupa and Di Nenno, but now it's possible that history could be rewritten. Today, Coello and Tapia won their 45th straight victory and there are strong indications that they will break their own record in Barcelona.

Ale Galan and Fede Chingotto have had a strong season, reaching all except two finals, but since July Coello and Tapia have dominated. Today's final in Italy, was another example of this, with Coello and Tapia winning 6-4, 7-5 over Galan and Chingotto to secure another title. With 45 straight wins, they are now on track to beat their previous record of 46 matches.

In less than two weeks, the Tour Finals in Barcelona will start and if they start with two wins (round of 16 and quarter-finals) they will beat their own record. There's every reason to believe they'll succeed, having dominated and reached the final in all except one tournament this year.

On the women's side, Gemma Triay and Claudia Fernandez won after Bea Gonzalez and Delfi Brea were forced to withdraw from the match due to Gonzalez suffering an injury when the match was heading to a third set.
