The battle for the last spot in the Tour Finals will be decided today
Today will decide who claims the final spot in the Women’s Tour Finals in Barcelona. Aranza Osoro, Alejandra Alonso, and Tamara Icardo are all still in contention, and today’s matches will be decisive.
The Tour Finals, set to take place from December 19 to 22 in Barcelona, feature the top 16 ranked players based on their 22 best results of the year. On the women’s side, the final ticket is up for grabs, and this week’s P1 tournament in Milan will determine who secures a place in the season-ending showcase.
Today, Alonso, paired with Andrea Ustero, faces the Spanish duo of Patty Llaguno and Lucia Sainz. Osoro, teaming up with Veronica Virseda, goes up against Delfi Brea and Bea Gonzalez. Meanwhile, Tamara Icardo, alongside Claudia Jensen, takes on Marta Ortega and Sofia Araujo.
Osoro has a slight advantage, as her position in the Race means she will secure the spot if all three contenders lose their matches today. However, if Alonso or Icardo wins while the others fail to advance, they will claim the final spot. For the first time in the tournament, all three players face higher-ranked opponents.
