Delfi Brea and Bea Gonzalez to Split Next Season, reports Marca
According to Spanish newspaper Marca, one of the most iconic and successful pairings in recent padel history, Delfi Brea and Bea Gonzalez, will part ways after this season.
The decision is reportedly driven by Brea, seeking new challenges after nearly two years of collaboration on the court. The duo has amassed an impressive eight titles in 2023, spanning both Premier Padel and the World Padel Tour, along with five Premier Padel titles in 2024.
Their achievements propelled them to finish last season as the world’s second-ranked pair, narrowly behind Ari Sánchez and Paula Josemaría. The team also posed a formidable challenge to the top spot throughout their partnership.
However, this season has been hindered by setbacks, primarily due to Gonzalez's injuries. In June, she announced she had developed a blood clot in her left foot, forcing her to miss tournaments in Rome and Bordeaux. In July, she was unable to play the semifinal in Málaga—her hometown—due to a chest muscle injury. Although she returned to competition in September in Madrid, she was forced to withdraw from the final.
Despite the challenges, the pair will see out the remainder of this season together before going their separate ways.
