Confirmed: Paquito and Cardona withdraw from Mexico Major

ANNONS

Paquito Navarro and Pablo Cardona have decided to withdraw from Mexico Major and will not play their scheduled round of 16 match. The decision was confirmed by Premier Padel, which stated "personal reasons" as the cause.

Yesterday, the pair faced a major surprise as Adam Axelsson and Simon Vasquez pushed them to three sets. In a tough match played in 32-degree heat in Acapulco, the Swedish duo delivered an impressive performance and came just a few games short of defeating the fifth-seeded Navarro and Cardona.

The match was challenging not only because of the gameplay but also due to the extreme heat. Paquito Navarro visibly showed his frustration with the conditions and directed criticism toward the umpire on several occasions. During a break, he was heard saying:
"It’s dying, dying, dying."

Despite the conditions, Navarro and Cardona managed to secure the victory with a scoreline of 7-6, 6-7, 6-3. However, it has now been confirmed that they will not continue in the tournament.

Their withdrawal means that Antonio Fernandez and Jose Jimenez automatically advance to the quarterfinals.
