Coello and Tapia drop a set but extend winning streak

ANNONS

Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia continue to dominate the padel world, but today's Kuwait Premier Padel quarterfinal proved to be a tough challenge. Javi Garrido and Lucas Bergamini pushed the world number ones to a three-set battle, with Coello and Tapia dropping their first set in 130 days before securing their 33rd consecutive victory.

Coello and Tapia have been unbeatable since the summer, with a Premier Padel winning streak now at 33 matches. During this run, they have lost only two sets—the first in the Valladolid final against Ale Galan and Federico Chingotto, and the second today against Garrido and Bergamini.

The match lasted almost three hours and was full of exciting moments. The first set was evenly contested until 5-5, where Coello and Tapia won two straight games to take the set. In the second set, Garrido and Bergamini took the lead, and although the world number ones leveled at 5-5, it was Garrido and Bergamini who finished stronger, winning 7-5.

The third set ended 6-1 in favor of Coello and Tapia, but it was far from one-sided. The world number ones showed why they hold the top spot, finishing the match with confidence.

With this victory, Coello and Tapia are now 13 matches away from breaking their previous record of 46 consecutive wins. With two P1 tournaments, a Major, and the Tour Final ahead, they have every chance to set a new record.

Final score: 7-5, 5-7, 6-1 to Coello and Tapia.
