Coello and Tapia continue their winning streak – aiming to break their own record
Do you remember the spring of 2023, when Coello and Tapia put together 46 consecutive wins and seemed unstoppable? Their incredible streak was broken by Stupa and Di Nenno, but now, history might be rewritten. Today, Coello and Tapia secured their 30th consecutive win, and if they continue on this path, they could surpass their own record before the season ends.
Ale Galan and Fede Chingotto have had a strong season, reaching every final, but since July, Coello and Tapia have been dominant. Today's final was no exception, with Coello and Tapia winning 6-4, 6-3 over Galan and Chingotto to claim another title. With 30 consecutive wins, they are closing in on their previous record of 46 matches.
With two P1 tournaments, a Major, and a Tour Final remaining, there are enough matches left for the world number ones to potentially break their own record.
On the women's side, Andrea Ustero and Alejandra Alonso faced Delfi Brea and Bea Gonzalez in the final. Brea and Gonzalez secured a 6-2, 6-3 win, marking an impressive comeback in their first tournament together since September.
