Surprise in Marbella - top seeds knocked out

Jon Sanz and Coki Nieto made it to the semi-finals of the FIP competition in Marbella, but there the journey ended for the couple. Now the next challenge awaits in the form of a Premier Padel competition, followed by the World Championships where they can play a key role for Spain.

It was Francisco Guerrero and Jairo Bautista who put an end to Sanz and Nieto's journey. Seeded 15th, Guerrero and Bautista have surprised everyone by reaching the final after an impressive 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 victory over Sanz and Nieto.

Today the duo will face Momo Gonzalez and Edu Alonso in the final. The match will start around 14:00 and will be broadcast on FIP's YouTube channel.

For Sanz and Nieto, the Premier Padel competition in Egypt is next, and then they will represent Spain in the World Cup. The national coach has expressed great confidence in the pair, who could play a crucial role for Spain during the championship.
