After the separation – the pair now face each other in the final

ANNONS

Alejandra Salazar and Tamara Icardo recently went their separate ways after Icardo was injured for an extended period. Now that she is back on the court, they will face each other for the first time as opponents in the FIP final in Marbella.

Salazar has had to navigate multiple partner changes throughout the year, unable to establish anything long-term. The challenges began when Icardo suffered an injury in the spring, forcing her to miss a number of tournaments.

As a result, Salazar had to find temporary partners while waiting for Icardo to recover. But with Icardo's recovery taking longer than expected, the decision was made before the Madrid tournament for them to part ways, allowing Salazar to start a new project.

Salazar reflected on the situation in an interview with Mundo Deportivo , describing the decision as difficult but necessary.

- In the end, it was a shared decision, even if it was partly forced. But we have a great relationship. It's a shame, because we were so excited to see where we could have gone as a couple.

Now, in this week's FIP tournament in Marbella, Salazar, who is playing with Jessica Castello, and Icardo, alongside Claudia Jensen, have both reached the final and will face each other. Castello and Jensen were also former partners. The match is set to begin today at 12:00 and will be streamed on FIP's YouTube channel.
