Bea Gonzalez on returning to the World Championship: "A great date for several reasons"

ANNONS

Bea Gonzalez has had a tough season with injuries that have kept her off the court, forcing her to miss several tournaments, including two Majors – Italy and France. Now, however, she is ready for a long-awaited comeback, which will happen at the Padel World Championship, where she aims to help Spain secure another title.

Gonzalez started the season strong alongside Delfi Brea, winning multiple titles and proving themselves as contenders for the world number one spot. But since June, injuries have caused her to miss almost every tournament since then.

Now, it’s confirmed that she will return at the World Championship, as she explained to the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo:

- I think returning at the World Championship was a good decision for several reasons. It's a different kind of tournament where you might not have the same mental demands from day one as you would in a Premier Padel event.

She continued:

- In the World Championship, you have two or three days before the competition starts where you can be a bit calmer, train, and even test your form during the early matches. Of course, you want to play everything, but if at any point you don’t feel completely ready, the team has several reserves. I think it's a good time to return and start competing.
