Surprise in Marbella – new pair knocked out early

Miguel Yanguas and Juanlu Esbri teamed up for this week’s FIP tournament in Marbella, aiming to collect valuable FIP points. However, their run ended quickly, as they lost in the first round to José Diestro and Javier Ruiz.

The Marbella tournament has drawn a strong field of top players, being a Platinum event where the winners are awarded 250 points, making it particularly important.

Yanguas and Esbri entered the tournament yesterday but were knocked out immediately. Diestro and Ruiz put in a solid performance, winning 6-4, 7-5.

The tournament continues today with the second round of matches.
