Record-breaking attendance at Paris Major – massive increase from last edition
Last week, one of the year's most prestigious tournaments took place as the Paris Major was held. The iconic Roland Garros stadium was filled with an enthusiastic crowd, larger than ever before. The event attracted over 64,000 spectators throughout the week, a 73 percent increase compared to last year.
It was a true padel festival in Paris, with the tournament smashing all previous attendance records. More than 64,000 fans visited Roland Garros during the week.
On Sunday, 13,000 spectators were present to witness the final matches and Fernando Belasteguín's farewell ceremony.
Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello displayed total dominance in the men’s final, convincingly defeating Alejandro Galan and Federico Chingotto with a scoreline of 6-2, 6-1. This victory marks Tapia and Coello's fifth consecutive title, extending their unbeaten streak to 25 matches.
On the women’s side, world number ones Ariana Sanchez and Paula Josemaria continued to impress as they secured yet another Major title. They defeated Delfi Brea and Andrea Ustero 6-4, 6-0 in a match that highlighted their strong form, giving them their third Major victory of the year.
