World number ones claimed victory – opponents will not continue together
In the afternoon, the women's final took place on the center court at Roland Garros, where world number ones Ariana Sanchez and Paula Josemaria claimed another Major title after an exciting match. This marks their fourth Major victory, further demonstrating their dominance this year.
This week has featured one of the most spectacular padel tournaments of the year, with the legendary Roland Garros as the stage. Today, only two matches remained on the schedule, with the women's final kicking off first. Sanchez and Josemaria faced the new pairing of Delfi Brea and Andrea Ustero.
There was much at stake going into the match. The world number ones were aiming to defend their title and secure their fourth Major victory, while Brea and Ustero were chasing their first-ever Major title.
The stands in the iconic arena were largely filled, and the start of the match was just as close as expected. The game was marked by several deuce points, and it wasn't until 3-3 that Sanchez and Josemaria managed to break. However, Brea and Ustero quickly equalized to 4-4, but the world number ones showed their class by breaking again and served home the first set and won 6-4.
The second set saw Sanchez and Josemaria start with two early breaks, giving them a strong lead that they maintained throughout. They never let their opponents back into the match, eventually closing it out with a 6-4, 6-0 victory. With this result, they have now won all Majors this year and secured their fourth Major title in total.
For Delfi Brea and Andrea Ustero, different paths now lie ahead, as they will not be playing together in the next Premier Padel tournament. Ustero will reunite with her former partner Alejandra Alonso, while Delfi Brea will form a new pairing with Lucia Sainz.
