Lebrón and another heated moment on the bench: "I don't want to start a fight"
Yesterday, there was a brief moment of tension on the benches. Juan Lebrón had a conversation with his coach, Agustín Gómez Silingo, about Martín Di Nenno, who wasn’t present at the time.
It all happened when the pair was trailing 0-3 in the second set against Guerrero and Bautista.
Lebrón mentioned that he had told Di Nenno to calm down on the court, but the Argentine continued at a pace that, for the Spaniard, wasn’t ideal: “He’s going way too fast, Martín.”
At that point, Silingo used all his coaching skills and began to mediate: “You’re sitting there with a sour face, and Martín doesn’t know what’s going on with you.”
The coach continued: “You’re part of the team, it’s your responsibility. You need to talk to him and tell him what’s going on.”
To which the ‘Wolf’ replied: “I’m afraid of starting a fight.”
Silingo immediately responded: “It’s impossible to fight with Martín.”
Just another gem from the sidelines. Hats off to Silingo for his great work. Di Nenno and Lebrón lost that set but ultimately won the match.
