Here are the winners of the Madrid P1
The Madrid P1 already has its champions. Claudia Fernández with Gemma Triay and Arturo Coello alongside Agustín Tapia were crowned in one of the most important tournaments of the season.
Bittersweet women's final
Gemma Triay and Claudia Fernández are the new champions of the Madrid P1. The number 3 pair showed great form in the first set, winning it 6/2. In the second set, with the match at 2/1, Bea González aggravated her shoulder injury and had to withdraw.
Delfi Brea and Bea González will need to assess the situation and the extent of the injury to determine if they can participate in next week’s Rotterdam P1.
This is the third title of the season for Fernández and Triay, following their victories in the Santiago P1 and Bordeaux P2.
The number 1s continue to reign
In the classic matchup against Chingalán, the number 1s once again prevailed. Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia claimed the Madrid P1, winning 6/3 and 7/6 in the grand final.
This is the seventh title of the season for Coello and Tapia, and their second consecutive title after winning the Málaga P1 (they did not participate in the Finland P2).
