Bela: Four players selected for Argentina's World Cup squad
The World Padel Championships are less than two months away in Qatar, and one squad that is always filled with world stars is Argentina's. Now Fernando Belasteguín reveals which players have already secured a place in the squad.
At the end of October, the Padel World Championship kicks off, with Spain and Argentina expected to battle it out for the title. It will also be exciting to see if other nations can challenge at the top.
Fernando Belasteguín is in his last season as a professional player and is definitely a candidate for Argentina's World Cup squad. In an interview with Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, he talks about his own chances of making the squad and reflects on the squad as a whole.
- Gaby Reca called me in August and told me that they had divided the work of calling certain players. He also told me that there are four confirmed places (Tapia, Chingotto, Di Nenno and Stupaczuk). The rest of us have to earn our place, so the month of September will be important. All the contenders have lost in the first rounds, we'll see what the captains decide. If I get in, I'm happy. If I don't make it, I'm just another fan,’ says Bela.
The World Cup will be held between 28 October and 2 November.
