Madrid P1 continues to enjoy its early days of action, and it has already delivered some surprises. Two of the top 6 pairs have been eliminated early in this tournament, which promises great excitement.

Javi Garrido and Álex Ruiz, the number 6 pair in the men's draw, were defeated in their debut in the Spanish capital by an impressive Iñigo Jofre and Luis Hernández Quesada. The final score was a close 6/3, 3/6, 7/6. Jofre and Hernández had previously beaten Xisco Gil and Pablo García in their first match.

On the other hand, Lucía Sainz and Patty Llaguno, the number 6 pair in the women's draw, lost in three sets to the spectacular Andrea Ustero and Alejandra Alonso. The 'Turquis' recently became champions of Spain in the juniors category and continue to demonstrate why they are destined to be future world number 1.

Today will see the debut of the two current world number 1 pairs in Madrid. Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello will take the court, as will Paula Josemaría and Ariana Sánchez. It will also be the moment for Martín Di Nenno and Juan Lebrón, the latest Premier Padel champions, to make their appearance.
