The remarkable names from the Spanish Youth Championship 2024
The ‘Campeonato de España de menores’ (Junior Spain National Championships) is enjoying its 37th edition this week, and as always, it features standout names destined to shape the future of both Spanish and global padel.
The tournament is taking place at the Somontes Sports Club in Madrid and includes five categories: benjamín, alevín, infantil, cadete, and junior.
In the boys' junior category (the oldest age group), the name Juan ‘Cokito’ Zamora stands out above the rest. Zamora has been the Spanish champion in the other four categories and is already competing at the highest level in A1 Padel, where he has even given the top two pairs in the circuit quite a scare.
Also on the list is Enzo Jensen, another young talent who competed this year in the Hexagon Cup in the promises category.
As for the girls, it's impossible not to highlight Alejandra Alonso and Andrea Ustero, two familiar faces in Premier Padel. The 'Turquis' have reached four semifinals this year: Acapulco, Santiago, Mar Del Plata, and Finland.
Alonso and Ustero are destined to be world number 1 in a few years. This week, they have the chance to become champions of Spain.
