The Cancun Waves secure their first win of the season

The Cancun Waves secured their first series win in the 2024 Pro Padel League. The addition of Alejandra Salazar was the key factor that finally brought a smile to the Mexican franchise.

Alejandra Salazar and Verónica Virseda claimed the first point of the series by defeating Andrea Ustero and Virginia Riera of the New York Atlantics. Teo Zapata and Sanyo Gutiérrez fell to Federico Chingotto and Ramiro Moyano.

In the decisive mixed match, Salazar once again showcased her skill alongside Sanyo Gutiérrez, winning 7/5 against Campagnolo and Riera. This marks the first series win for the Cancun Waves since the start of 2024.

It will be crucial for the Waves to have a strong tournament to earn points and climb out of the bottom of the standings.
