Only two pairs stay together – so have the men's star duos changed from last year
Over the past year, almost every top player has chosen to look for new success with a new partner, resulting in major changes at the top of the world. In this article, we compare what the standings looked like last year with what they look like today on the men's side.
December 2023:
- Arturo Coello / Agustin Tapia
- Juan Lebron / Alejandro Galan
- Franco Stupaczuk / Martin Di Nenno
- Federico Chingotto / Francisco Navarro
- Miguel Yanguas / Fernando Belasteguin
- Juan Tello / Alejandro Ruiz Granados
- Momo Gonzalez / Javier Garrido
- Agustin Gutierrez / Carlos Daniel Gutierrez
- Lucas Bergamini / Victor Ruiz
- Jorge Nieto Ruiz / Jon Sanz
August 2024:
- Arturo Coello / Agustin Tapia
- Alejandro Galan / Federico Chingotto
- Martin Di Nenno / Juan Lebron
- Miguel Yanguas / Franco Stupaczuk
- Pablo Cardona / Francisco Navarro
- Juan Tello / Fernando Belasteguin
- Javier Garrido / Alejandro Ruiz Granados
- Coki Nieto / Jon Sanz
- Momo Gonzalez / Eduardo Alonso
- Alejandro Arroyo / Sanyo Gutierrez
A few months ago we would have had three pairs left, but after Di Nenno and Stupaczuk went their separate ways, only two pairs remain in the world top. Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia as well as Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz are the only ones who have chosen to continue playing together.
Coello and Tapia, who finished last year as world number one, have continued to stay at the very top this year. Sanz and Nieto have probably had opportunities to start new partnerships in the context of all the changes, but have chosen to stick with their partnership.
