Finland will be the global center of padel this week. Here are some facts about the state of the sport in this country according to the World Padel Report by the FIP.
The official name of the Finnish federation is Suomi Padel Liitto. The Nordic country has 227 clubs and 1,105 padel courts.
Additionally, it has 4 female and 4 male players with FIP rankings. Three of the female players are within the top 300. Finland participated in the recent 2024 FIP European Padel Championships in the women's category and placed 12th.
Finland has around 200,000 amateur players. A large crowd is expected during this P2 event, another sign of the sport's growth worldwide.
