Surprises in Sardinia - here are the finals

Premier Padel is taking a break for the next few weeks, but World Padel continues in full force. This week, an FIP Platinum event is taking place, followed by the European Championships. The FIP competition has so far been full of surprises.

Fernando Belasteguín, usually paired with Juan Tello, competed this time with Javier Garrido. The pair, who were seeded first and favourites for the title, were surprisingly knocked out in the quarter-finals by Alvaro Cepero and Pablo Lijo.

Several other top-seeded pairs have also exited the competition on the men's side, including Sanchez/Capra, Rubio/Arroyo and Leal/Campagnolo.

On the women's side, Virginia Riera and Carmen Goenaga started as top seeds but lost to Carolina Orsi and Nuria Rodriguez.

Only the finals in Sardinia remain before the venue is changed for the European Championships.
