Spanish star misses the European Championship - she replaces
Verónica Virseda will miss the European Padel Championships in July. Instead, Lorena Rufo will take her place in the team. This was announced by the Spanish Padel Federation in a press release.
The 2024 European Championships will be held this summer, and the Spanish squad has now been selected. The championship will take place between 22 and 28 July in Sardinia, Italy.
The Spanish Padel Federation recently announced the change in the women's team, with Lorena Rufo replacing Verónica Virseda.
”I would like to inform you that unfortunately I will not be able to participate in the European Championships to be held on 22-28 July in Cagliari due to a knee injury that I have had for several weeks,” Virseda writes on Instagram.
Spanish women's team: Marta Ortega, Lorena Rufo, Lucia Sainz, Patricia Llaguno, Andrea Ustero, Alejandra Alonso, Beatriz Caldera and Jessica Castelló.
Spanish men's team: Momo González, Alejandro Ruiz, Alejandro Arroyo, Javier Rico, Javier Leal, Pablo Cardona, Jose Antonio García Diestro and Teodoro Zapata.
