World number ones can make padel history in Finland

In a few weeks, a Premier Padel event will take place in Finland, and it will be a particularly significant tournament for Paula Josemaria and Ariana Sánchez. They are facing the possibility of making padel history as the women's pair with the most titles on the world tour.

Yesterday, the finals were held in Malaga. After more than two hours of play, Paula Josemaria and Ariana Sánchez were crowned champions with a 1-6, 6-4, 6-2 victory over Gemma Triay and Claudia Fernandez. The win means the pair have now won 32 titles, as many as the Alayeto twins on the world tour.

This gives Josemaria and Sánchez the chance to make history in Finland, where they could become the women's pair with the most titles in the padel world.

The Premier Padel competition in Finland will be held from 27 July to 4 August.
