The first title of Seba Nerone and Sofi Araújo in Premier Padel
The Argentine coach Seba Nerone and Sofía Araújo won their first title in Premier Padel at the Genoa P2. The Portuguese player becomes the first champion from her country in the history of this circuit.
Few imagined that in their first tournament together, Marta Ortega and Sofi Araújo would secure a title and defeat the number 1 ranked pair in the grand final. Nerone as the coach and Araújo on the court achieved their first crown. Marta Ortega had already won in 2023 at the Italy Major with Gemma Triay.
This is the second title for Ortega and Araújo as a pair. In their first stint together, they had already won the WPT Challenger in Alicante in May 2023. In that final, they defeated Tamara Icardo and Virginia Riera.
It is not Nerone's first title as a coach, as he had previously achieved it with the Sánchez Alayeto twins in WPT, but it is his first in Premier Padel.
Ortega and Araújo consolidate as the number 4 pair and initially justify the investment in this new project.
